LDP was formed in 1988 to bring liberal values to Sri Lanka and to bring a liberated view to the country's political viewpoint.
We are Sri Lankans who have the ability to present solutions as well as to implement them and have achieved success in the relevant fields to establish a society that respects differences and diversity so that all citizens can live with pride, the prosperity of the economic and social sectors reaches all social strata, and a government capable of making Sri Lanka an attractive and free country with satisfied citizens living in the world, which creates a high standard of living for all the people.
That's exactly we decided to choose liberal democracy. We are trying to mobilize the people to construct a government based on liberal democratic political and economic policies in our nation in order to bring about the significant change in the economic, social, and political elements that the Sri Lankan society has recently demanded.

To make Sri Lanka a prosperous country by presenting a group of parliamentary candidates at the board and seat level while only limiting to twenty cabinet members including the President and Prime Minister, who are extremely intelligent, visionary and creative with a broad vision for building the country, who have reaped successful results from their scopes, who are practical yet humanistic leadership qualities, full of their own ideas and the guidance of advisors, to fulfill their national responsibilities without deterioration.
